Orientation, depth, glare, privacy, and seasonal change matter more than simply adding more glass.

Read orientation and depth

Window size alone does not define daylight quality. Orientation, overhangs, adjacent buildings, room depth, surface reflectance, and seasonal sun angles shape the experience.

Balance light and privacy

High windows, filtered screens, planted buffers, courtyards, and carefully framed views can bring in daylight without exposing every room.

Design transitions

The most memorable light often appears at transitions: an entry, stair, hallway, courtyard edge, or change in ceiling height. These moments can organize movement as well as atmosphere.
